Is there anything I can do myself to feel better?
Yes. One of the most important things you can do to feel better is to stay as active as possible. You might be tempted to avoid being active because you are in pain. But this can make your muscles weak and your joints stiffer than they already are.
You will not damage your joints with movement and activity, even though it may be painful. Keeping moving will actually help overall, even if it is painful during it.
